[NTLK] NotePhone

Hi all, 

I decided to get my NotePhone out of the box (the Siemens phone with an OMP attached) and try it out, but I have a problem where I don’t get a dialtone when I connect it up. I don’t have a landline per-se, but I have an XLink BT which allows me to plug in my old rotary phone and other devices and connect them to my iPhone via blutetooth, it functions like a little phone exchange. The XLink only has the two centre pins.

Anyway, the NotePhone doesn’t get a dialtone, I tried reversing the two centre wires (which carry the voice signal) and also tried adding 3v to the side pins (apparently some phones require voltage to pins 1 and 4 on a North American phone plug). I can’t get a dialtone at all. 

I know there are issues with hanging up the NotePhone, are there issues with picking up also?
