[NTLK] Darkening spot on Newton 2100 screen - ( "vinegar syndrome")

I haven't run into this on its own, but I did have it once happen to my 2100 when it was in the sun for a hour or so (by accident).  It caused the screen to darken.  But once removed from the sun and cooled down it returned to normal and I haven't had problems with it since so I doubt this is related to your problem as it is increasing without you doing anything.  I suspect the only thing that will fix it is a screen replacement but perhaps others might chime in on this?

Does temperature changes alter the appearance?  Just a off-the-cuff thought, I might try putting it in the freezer (remove the batteries and PC cards first) for a bit in a ziplock and remove, let it slowly return to normal temperature in the bag and see if it is any different.  But might make it worse or have no affect at all so it is a risk.  But it won't hurt the other components.  Still though, I would do a backup first.
