Hi Fabrice!

I would check if that Sony adapter does not exceed 7.5V (check with any multimeter). If the voltage is even more higher than 7.5V, you have your problem.

The original Apple power adapter for Newton has 7.5V, 1.2A, so the voltage is fine, and the 2A on your Sony shouldn’t be a problem. The only problem (I guess) may be voltage higher than 7.5V.
