I did the same, basically as follows:

- Use the Patch Remover to get to 717260
- Installed 71J059, 711000 and 712000 in sequence
- Went back to 717260 and installed 712000

I don't have a 717006 ROM, but I tested the 717006 to 712000 update 
using Einstein.

I'm not sure if people still have 71J059, but I'm quite sure you can 
install 712000 on top of that as well.

It is not a bad idea to have the Y2010 Diagnostics package installed, 
also to clear out any alarms which could cause a reboot loop.

Now onwards with the 742000 patch :)
