[NTLK] The new date bug - questions

I have not powered up my 2100 in quite some time. When I do do, some day, is it a true statement that as long as I don’t try to set it to the correct date, it will be fine?
I’d install the patch but at this point I would not have the foggiest idea of how (nor, probably, the necessary equipment) to do so.
For me it’s a great artifact that still carries some voice recordings of people who are now dead, as well as the first cries of one of my kids (recorded in the delivery room).
So as long as it doesn’t know what year it is, it’s going to be fine, right?
