[NTLK] 2000 not switching on

And there's no backup battery; my mistake. Could oxidation on the logic
board cause a short? If it were a capacitor/degradation issue, I would
expect a wonkier result. My 120 briefly started displaying random blocks
on the screen but then reverted after several days unpowered (which I'd
guess is the beginnings of a capacitor failure). But not turning on at all
randomly seems like it might be a short. And your mention of the heat
(/humidity?) might support that.

You could try opening just the case (
https://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/Apple+Tablet+Teardown/2153) to see if
there's any very obvious oxidation on the logic board itself.

I mean... just because it's costless... Have you tried blowing in the PC
card slots/maybe wiping very gently with a qtip? Have you looked in those
slots for oxidation?

Believe it or not, "Scrubbing Bubbles" is pretty good at eating corrosion
off of logic boards.

Good luck,
Michael
