[NTLK] 2000 not switching on

Hi there Newtonians, Newt Crew….
Well, I’ve made sure that there were no PC Cards inserted (easy, as I don’t have any!) , left the 2000 off power for a couple of days…nothing from power supply or AA tray…I even opened up the back plate carefully to see if I could get into the battery “chamber”….and using a torch I could see some oxidation…so I carefully brushed vinegar around the terminals and left it to dry (bit of a heat wave here at the moment!)….but still no boot!  I didn’t want to go any further into the 2000’s innards for fear of breaking something….
Any help appreciated!
