I’m pretty sure this had nothing to do with the Newton platform or its technology. The case is more PowerBook-like than anything Newton related. Based on the design, I suspect that the OS was more likely going to be a slimmed down Mac OS with potentially a HyperCard-based UI to handle video functionality. The only thing that makes this concept even vaguely related to the Newton platform is theused of the term “Pad” in the name.

In my opinion, there’s more than a modicum of conjecture in that article and the auction listing.
