Hello!
I don't know if anyone on this list remembers Rick Plume, or if there are
folks in the Toronto, Ontario, Canada area. Rick was active in this group
years ago but I believe less so in more recent years. Rick passed away
fairly unexpectedly last year and I am his widow, Wendy. I haven't
unsubscribed his email from the group (yet), as I'm hoping that maybe
someone might be able to offer me some assistance...
In going through Rick's belongings I've found a fair volume of vintage
handheld computers/PDA's. I thought there might be some Newtons, but I
don't think there are. However, there are quite a few NEC MobilePro 700's
and peripherals/parts, and some are in the box. There is also an assortment
of small Palm computers and similar devices, and peripherals.
I am far from a "techie", so I don't know how any of it works or what goes
with what. Additionally I have a carton full of random cords and chargers
and am not sure if some of them go with these devices. I have no idea
whether they are in working order, although I suspect at least some if not
many are, and there appear to be parts as well. In the case of the
MobilePro 700's some look complete in the box.
I suspect that perhaps there might be some of you "Newton folks" who, like
Rick did, also have an interest in other vintage small computer stuff. So
I'm hoping it isn't too much of a long shot to ask if there might be anyone
in this group who would know about such creatures, or knows of someone who
might? Ultimately, are these items that there might be an interest for,
and if so how can I find a home for them? Or are they basically just
electronic waste??
Thanking you in advance and most appreciative of any assistance you could
offer.
W.
Wendy Plume
