PS: do not assume pinouts. The MP2x00 uses the DIMM72 connector for its ROM, but uses a completely different pin-out than DIMM72 memory modules. The same way, the shot PCMCIA slots in the back may not really follow the PCMCIA standard.

PPS: you sait that the system seems to do something, but the screen is blank. If you have an oscilloscope, you can test a ton of things, including the data lines on the flat ribbon cable that goes to the screen. If data is sent, but nothing displayed, the machine may be running but the display is dead. Also, the machine likely generates sound after booting. Check, if the potentiometer is in middle position so you can hear that.
