I see that with newton-re, some of the use cases we had for Einstein
can be simplified a lot, especially developing new applications for the
Newton will be easier with what Matthias is putting together. The same
with interfacing with the host OS, the way it's done in Einstein via
the official route (REx) is not easy. newton-re makes that dead simple.

Having said that, I for one still need a basis for a true emulator like
Einstein and will continue to work on it. I am however also looking
into simplifying it, if for example something is covered by newton-re,
then it won't have to be done by Einstein. Platform support beyond
macOS, Linux and Windows is such an area, especially if there are no
active maintainers for other platforms.

As I've posted a while ago in the context of serial port handling, I'll
use GitHub issues for whatever changes I have in mind, and let the list
know here.

Open Source projects are generally not easy to manage without a large
contributor base, there's always the risk that few maintainers become a
bottleneck. In that sense, I'll be very careful to not raise
expectations here :)
