Hello Eckhart,

Thanks for the continued work on Einstein. I use it on Mac and Android and find it quite useful!

So I hear of serial ports, what changes does this do or allow? I know we had connection over the TCP Dock before.

Thanks,

Greg / Doc Cluy

I've been getting my hands dirty again with Newton related stuff
(different story), and wanted to tie up some loose ends regarding the
Einstein serial ports. A bit of background, I implemented the REx based
drivers a while back to learn more about how the ROM extensions work,
and to have a playground to add custom features maybe not ready for
mainstream usage yet.

I think the approach with those drivers would actually work even as a
default driver, so I created
https://github.com/pguyot/Einstein/issues/214 to kick off the
discussion. I hope that Newtontalk is the best way to get feedback on
this, keep the comments coming :)

Eckhart
