Sorry for the delay in reporting back. The software did arrive a couple of weeks ago, but I did not have time to look at closely.

It is not the Newton Language Kit software, but a Large Dictionary for us with NLK.

If you’d like to look at it yourself, I’ve uploaded a copy of the software to the Newted Community server.

Please read this document first.

How to Use This Package
----------------------

Simply install Large Dictionary 2.1 on your Newton OS machine, and it will be usable on the Newton Language Kit (NLK). It can be used in conjunction with the conversion dictionary included as standard in NLK. Once Large Dictionary 2.1 is installed, NLK will automatically start referencing Large Dictionary 2.1. If you remove the memory card containing the installed Large Dictionary 2.1, it will automatically switch back to the conversion dictionary included as standard in NLK.

Installation Method (Macintosh Version)
----------------------

1) Double-click the compressed file on the floppy disk to decompress it. Save the decompressed file to your computer's hard drive.
2) Large Dictionary 2.1 requires at least 1400KB of free memory. Please check the free space on your memory card before installation.
3) Open "Extras" on your Newton OS machine, then open "Cards". Check the box for "Save new items to this card."
4) Install the "Large Dictionary 2.1.1.pkg" package located in the unzipped folder onto your Newton OS machine using Newton Connection Utilities.

Installation Method (Windows Version)
----------------------

1) Copy the compressed file on the floppy disk to your computer's hard drive and unzip it.
2) "Large Dictionary 2.1" requires at least 1400KB of free memory. Please check the free space on your memory card before installation.
3) Open "Extras" on your Newton OS machine, then open "Cards." Check the box for "Save new items to this card."
4) Install "LJIS211.PKG" located in the unzipped directory onto your Newton OS machine using Newton Connection Utilities.

* Please refer to the software manuals for instructions on using "Newton Connection Utilities," etc.

* Due to its large file size, "Large Dictionary 2.1" may take some time to install.
