[NTLK] MP2k stuck in boot loop after hard reset

I finally got patch 712000 installed on my 2k, and it came up fine, everything worked. 

Restored it from backup, and it started boot looping. 

Hard reset it again, and it starts up, shows an error box that says “Newton restarted because of a system error,” and then restarts again. 

How can this persist after a hard reset, and how do I fix it?
