[NTLK] Error with Sony power adapter SCP-114

Yes, can be a problem if power adapter deliver higher voltage than 7.5V. Many power adapters do that and they deliver more than nominal without any load. And that what Newton does not like. And that can even break the Newton.

The fact that the nameplate shows 7.5V does not guarantee that the multimeter will not show a higher voltage when you do not connect the power supply to any power receiver.
