Many thanks Eckhart for what you do for the Newton community!
Here's a test performed on an MP2100-US (2000 upgraded to 2100 by Apple)
Before Patch :
ROM Version 2.1 (711000)-1
Procedure:
- Backup all on a PCMCIA card
- HARD RESET (delete all)
- Y2010 Diagnostics installed via serial cable (PowerBook)
- Patch 712000 installed via serial cable (PowerBook)
- Automatic reboot of Newton after patch installation.
>> Work !!!
Alfter Patch :
ROM Version 2.1 (712000)-1
- Launch Y2010 :
> Time Base: 12/31/23 11:24 am
> SystemAlarmSoup content:
> Key: To Do
> Minutes: 63653940 (1/9/25 3:00 am)
> Seconds: 32369760 (1/9/25 3:00 am)
...
- Set correct date and time.
- Soft Reset
>> Still working :-)
Now if you want to dive into the Newton 2k ROM in French, I can send you the ROM file ;-)
