Well, I just checked and my luck apparently ran out ...
My MP2100 (North American OS running Eckhart’s Y2010 patch) has been plugged into power since before Christmas.
I’ve been running NPDS on it to grab screenshots for the Newton Glossary. It had been running fine with the clock showing the correct date (2025) up until yesterday.
However, every once in a while NPDS freezes up and a manual reset is needed. I hadn’t performed a reset since before the New Year, but this afternoon it required one.
Now the Newton is stuck on the startup screen after the boot sound, just like yours.
I’m removed the power adapter (and letting what little juice is still sitting in the battery drain) to see if it will come back with a 1998 date.
What a poopy way to start the year. :P
