A short update.
I ordered all the parts, and with a little bit of luck, I can build and send out the first beta test dongles in two to three weeks. If I get thumbs up from the testers, I hope to be able to send out all other requests by the end of May. No promises though, I am a software developer, and our predictions tend to be off by weeks, months, or sometimes even years.
Soooo, if you have not received a private mail that you are on the list, I either missed your mail, or I don't have your EMail address (Steve Valin, Reiner Zufall). Please send a private mail to m.melcher at robowerk.de <mailto:m.melcher at robowerk.de> .
The cost of parts will come to under 50 Euros for sure, hopefully under 40 Euros. Shipping within the EU is no problem at all. All other countries, U.K., U.S., etc. - do you have any suggestions on how to declare and send these while keeping postage and tariffs low?
The size is the same as the original dongle. It's not a commercial product (I just ask you reimburse what it cost me to buy the parts, and buy me a beer if we ever meet in person).
When they are ready to hip, I will contact every one on the list with the final cost including shipping, and you can then decide if you want the dongle.
- Matthias
PS: when the Betas work, I will post all the plans for you to build your own dongle
