[NTLK] [Semi-OT] Converting classic Mac fonts into bitmaps on a modern machine?

Hmm, maybe ‘oldstimers’ kicking in, but I seem to remember that being a trivial, or near-trivial issue on the old MacOS.  I keep imagining doing something like on my Mac IIci, and PowerMacG3, getting the info on a font, and a bitmap. appeared, maybe even allowing you to modify it, or something like that.
