One thing to note for the eMate is that it doesn’t have write support for 5v/12v flash memory cards: only 5v/5v models.  In other words, it can read a 5v/12v card, but cannot write to  it.

I think that’s a constraint that is only important for linear flash cards (I think all ATA flash cards are 5v/5v).
