Well, and who know what was happening over at Planet Newton during their string of outages. There could have been multiple server moves happening as they scrambled to keep things running. The digest volume and issue numbers from the Planet Newton list reset at one point, so that adds to the confusion when attempting to organize the archives chronologically.

In fact, both the Planet Newton list and the new replacement NewtonTalk list were operating at the same time ... again, with overlapping messages and digests.
